Job Title: Asset Manager Paralegal (Contract)
Location: Midtown Manhattan (Onsite; Hybrid after ~6 months)
Duration: 3–6 months (with potential for extension)
Compensation: $25–$50/hour (commensurate with experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager Paralegal to support a confidential client in Midtown Manhattan. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced investment banking and asset management environment. The initial assignment is for 3–6 months, with the potential to extend, and will transition to a hybrid schedule after approximately 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, process, and manage investor subscription documents.
Serve as the first line of review for investor queries regarding subscription agreements.
Assist in negotiating subscription terms, including extra reporting and other investor requests, before escalation to legal counsel.
Identify which terms can be resolved independently and which require counsel review.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures related to investment documentation.
Collaborate with investors, asset managers, and internal teams within private markets.
Maintain accurate records and support documentation tracking.
Qualifications:
Prior paralegal experience in investment banking, hedge funds, private equity, or compliance departments.
Strong knowledge of limited partnership structures and subscription agreements.
Experience liaising with investors in private markets.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to independently handle negotiations at the appropriate level while recognizing when to escalate to counsel.
Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time, in-office position in Midtown Manhattan.
Transition to hybrid schedule after ~6 months.
Hourly rate: $25–$50/hour, based on experience.
