Plaintiff Medical Malpractice Attorney (Remote – Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire)
Practice Area: Plaintiff-Side Medical Malpractice
Location: Remote (New York–licensed required; minimal onsite as needed)
Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $82-87/hour

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Plaintiff-Side Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its growing practice on a remote, contract (temp-to-hire) basis. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned litigator who can independently manage complex medical malpractice matters and produce litigation-ready work product with minimal supervision.

There is also an option for this to be a direct hire fully on-site in White Plains, NY. $170-$180k/year with mid-year and year-end bonuses and profit sharing available. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle large-scale plaintiff-side medical malpractice litigation
  • Independently draft and argue motions, including:
    • Motions to dismiss
    • Summary judgment motions
    • Oppositions to summary judgment
  • Draft complaints, pleadings, and discovery
  • Produce high-quality, litigation-ready work product
  • Conduct advanced legal research and writing
  • Collaborate with partners and litigation team on case strategy

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of plaintiff-side medical malpractice experience (required)
  • Active New York State Bar admission (required)
  • Additional state bar admissions are a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Work independently on complex cases
    • Draft dispositive motions and oppositions
    • Manage deadlines in active litigation
  • Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills

Work Structure & Expectations

  • Remote / contract-to-hire role with fully on-site (White Plains, NY) direct hire option available
  • Open to attorneys available 20–30–40 hours per week
  • Flexible hours within a general 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM window
  • Billable expectation: approximately 1,800–2,000 hours (prorated for contract role)
  • Minimal onsite presence required (one day per week or as needed)
