Assistant General Counsel

A growing global technology and services company is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to serve as a key legal partner to the business. This individual will provide strategic and practical legal guidance across commercial transactions, employment matters, compliance initiatives, and regulatory issues in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
$250,000 – $500,000 total compensation range, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, licensing, consulting, reseller, services, and platform agreements
• Draft and review employment and labor-related documents and provide guidance on personnel matters
• Analyze contract terms and special provisions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Advise business teams on legal and regulatory compliance matters across multiple departments
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal company policies and guidelines
• Conduct legal research and due diligence related to employment law, labor law, intellectual property, privacy, and regulatory compliance
• Support internal and external compliance audits and advise on risk mitigation strategies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and business stakeholders on day-to-day legal matters

Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar or eligibility for a New Jersey limited in-house counsel license
• 7–10 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department
• Prior experience within a publicly traded company is strongly preferred
• Experience handling commercial contracts and employment-related matters required
• Broad working knowledge of U.S. and international privacy laws and regulations preferred
