Description

Our client, an established and highly respected law firm, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Elder Law Attorney to join its team. This position focuses heavily on Medicaid planning, asset protection, long-term care planning, and crisis Medicaid applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on Medicaid eligibility and asset protection strategies
  • Develop and implement pre-planning and crisis planning solutions
  • Oversee Medicaid applications and appeals
  • Counsel clients regarding long-term care, nursing home placement, and community Medicaid programs
  • Oversee estate planning documents
  • Work closely with families navigating urgent healthcare and financial challenges
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and referral sources

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar
  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Experience with Elder Law, Medicaid Planning, Estate Planning, and/or Trusts & Estates
  • Strong knowledge of Medicaid eligibility rules and crisis planning strategies
  • Excellent communication, client service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to compassionately guide clients and families through complex and often time-sensitive matters
  • Must be able to work onsite in Hauppauge, NY
