Job Title: Employment Law Partner
Location: Multiple Office Locations Across California (El Segundo, Fresno, Oakland, Ontario, Orange, Redding, Sacramento, San Diego, San Jose, Westlake Village)
Salary: $230,000 – $300,000 annually (depending on experience, book of business, and other factors)
Schedule: Full-Time | Hybrid
A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Partner with 10+ years of experience to support and expand its employment law practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned attorney with a strong litigation background and the ability to provide strategic counsel to clients across a range of employment matters.
Candidates must be California residents and within a commutable distance to one of the listed office locations.
Defend clients in employment-related litigation, including claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations
Provide strategic legal counsel to leadership and HR teams on complex employment law matters (e.g., ADA, FMLA, Title IX, and other federal/state regulations)
Advise on risk mitigation, employee relations, workplace policies, and compliance strategies
Draft and review employment policies, handbooks, and contracts to ensure legal compliance
Support labor relations matters, including union issues and collective bargaining considerations
Deliver training and guidance to clients on employment law compliance and best practices
Minimum 10+ years of employment law experience
Strong background in employment litigation defense
Experience with wage & hour compliance, audits, and employment policies/handbooks
Experience with public entity defense strongly preferred; school district defense experience is a plus
Trial experience preferred, but not required
Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
J.D. from an accredited law school
Excellent research, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and provide proactive case management
